Hi, Happy New Year! and welcome to the new blog. As one of my new year resolutions, I am giving myself the time to do more of what I love and what really makes me happy. So I hope you stick around to see what 2018 has to come for me and the blog. But thank you for stopping by. Let’s talk about some makeup already.
Anastasia Beverly Hills released 2 more palettes near the end of 2017, in case you weren’t around to hear about it. The first being their 70’s inspired Subculture palette was reviewed, loved and shockingly hated in the beauty community online. Kickback from the shadows in the pan, ridiculous amounts of fallout, patchiness and trouble blending was problematic for lots of people, including myself. After purchasing and using for about 4 days I returned it to Ulta. Which I never do. It was a huge disappointment.
Then came Prism.. and it spoke to me the moment ABH debuted it to the world.
This holiday palette featuring 14 universal mattes, duochromes, and metallics is unlike any palette I’ve purchased in the past.
This is a great fun addition to an makeup junkies collection. That being said, I am left almost..heartbroken with the relatively small amount of attention this palette has actually gotten. Every day I log in to social media there are tutorials galore featuring their Subculture palette. A smart PR move by them considering the initial response of it. So I figured I would showcase it here in a couple of looks I’ve been loving. Hope you enjoy !
The first is just a peachy twist on my everyday eyeshadow look. I typically use all matte browns in the crease.
Here’s what I used: Eden, Saturn, Parallel, Unity
Next is a but more dramatic, but I love the combination of Dimension and Osiris on the lid. Both are duochrome, and when the sunlight hits the lid, it gives off the most beautiful reflect of pinks, purples and reds.
Here’s what I used: Dimension, Osiris, Lure, Parallel, Obsidian
Thanks so much for stopping by, did you like the looks? Hate them? Let me know and leave a comment.
How was your new year? Did you make any resolutions?
