Foundation is probably my favorite beauty product. Drugstore or High End. If it comes in my shade, I want it. Some of my most used and loved foundations are from the drugstore, so you can imagine my excitement for this Maybelline re-formulation. Over the last year drugstore brands have been KILLING it, Maybelline included. In 2017 they introduced the Face Studio Master Chrome Metallic Highlight in Metallic Gold and the beauty world went nuts. I couldn’t find this at drugstores for months, it was sold out online for months and when I finally got my hands on it, I went back to the store and bought a second. Same for their liquid lipsticks, and their gel liners, I was obsessed with Maybelline in 2017, and this foundation just catapulted that love into 2018. I can already say this foundation will be in my yearly favorites. It’s that good.
I wore this for 6 days before posting this to get good grasp of whether or not this is worth it. That being said, let’s jump into the review.
“Maybelline Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation delivers 24-hour wear for a concentrated coverage and flawless finish that doesn’t fade or shift all day” (from the Maybelline website)
This foundation comes in 16 inclusive shades, so just about everyone can find a shade or two that will work. Priced at about the $10 mark ($9.99-12.99) for 1.0 fl oz I purchased 2 shades pictured here. 330 Toffee and 334 Warm Sun. 330 has a neutral undertone, 334 had more of a reddish undertone. Neither shade matched my skin perfectly, so in the end I was happy that I bought both so I could concoct the perfect shade to suit me. This might be something you’re turned off by, but I do this quite often with drugstore foundations so this isn’t necessarily a con for me. A pump and a half of 334, and about a pump of 330 is perfect for me.
COVERAGE: Medium- Full coverage. Layers beautifully without any caking.
APPLICATION: Easily applies with almost every tool. I applied this with a sponge, brushes and fingers and every time it looked great. Without primer, with a luminizing primer, matte primer, setting powder, without setting powder, setting spray, and without, this foundation just works. I was truly shocked.
WEAR: My longest wear was from about 5:30am-11:00pm. So about 18.5 hours, and it remained in tact. I have combination skin, so by around 3:00 pm I noticed some oily coming to the surface. I blotted and went on about my day. Came home around 10:30 and my foundation, blush, and highlight was still in tact. Oils no where to really be seen. I will try to remember to take pictures another day where I wear the foundation for this long, but I’m not kidding. The foundation didn’t break up or melt off of my face. If I touched my face by this time though, it transferred. To be expected though.
With all that being said, I highly recommend this. In fact, I’ve already gotten a few people hooked on this. If you’re in the market for a new foundation that’s well worth the money, Maybelline SuperStay Full Coverage might be perfect for you.
